Some random things that pop into my head, when I think of what Love as an emotion, feels like:
(Sidenote: There is actually a wikihow on "How To Love." for all you heartless souls out there)
Lupe Fiasco "The Coolest"-
"She would be my queen,
I could be her king
Together, she would make me cool
and we would both rule, forever,
And I would never feel pain
and never be without pleasure, ever, again
And if the rain stops,
And everything's dry
she would cry
Just so I can drink the tears from her eyes
She'll teach me how to fly
Even cushion my fall
If my engines ever stall
and I plummet from the sky
But she will keep me high
And if I ever die
She would comission my image on her bosom
To hum
Or maybe she'd retire as well
A match made in Heaven set the fires in Hell
and I'll be...
...And so began our reign
The Trinity, her and I came
No weather man could ever stand
What her and I can
Hella hard
Umbrella whatever
Put plywood or propeller panes
And pray to God that the flood subside
Cause you gonna need a Sub till he does reply..."
Ah.. to be truly in love with an uncomprised devotion like that; is something I do indeed desire. Grant you, Lupe was talking about his relationship with Mother Earth, but nontheless the subject is Love.
Next is Andre 3000's "Prototype":
This song is an importnat love song for me because by simply putting the word "again," after "I think I'm in love..." he is telling the truth. Most of us have felt we were in love at one point in our lives and if we don't stay with our own current partners for the rest of our lives... then most likely we will feel that emotion, again. That's why I feel I never really want to hear " I love You," unless you are ready to tell me that I am the only person you ever want to and will love... forever. Lol, It may seem harsh to you guys, but love should not be taken lightly or the word spread so easily. It should be permanent and true.
And lastly but not "leastly:" (hey Palin got away with saying "Mavericky")...
Romeo & Juliet Circa' 1996-
If you want to get to the love part, cut to 6:33 in:
This is the epitome of what reckless love is though:
No words necessary for this one. This movie jaded me from wanting a love unlike that. (minus the suicide)

nope Lupe wasn't speaking on Mother earth though you can take it that way...
ReplyDeleteMichael Young (my COOL Young ) history,.. look it up
Things that are permanent and true aren't without a solid foundation.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's from a female's perspective, but I think it conveys the 'message' a little better.

Judging from his comments, I suspect that your friend - Cowboy Steve - is a Republican, who seems to thinks war is best the foreign policy. So I cited two individuals with much experience in the field of intelligence, who thinks James A. Baker's plan should form the basis of this country's foreign policy, which is totally against a war with Iran. If Steve takes the time to Google Mr. Baker, he'll discover that Mr. Baker is a REPUBLICAN. I forgot to mention that Brzezinski is also a Republican, or at least he was.
ReplyDeleteSo, no, I don't think you're stupid.
I think you make excellent observations, but I also think should try not to look at things through such a dark lens. I'm not so innocent myself. I guess I should have made things clear.
